Topical anesthesia is applied prior to treatment to minimize any unpleasant sensation. Extremely fine needles puncture the skin, creating a controlled micro-injury that prompts your body to begin the healing process by naturally triggering and increasing the skin’s production of new fibroblasts, monocytes, keratinocytes to release collagen & elastin leaving your skin firmer, smoother, tighter, brighter, and healthier. These benefits allow for the treatment of many skin conditions which require collagen remodeling ( photo-aging, acne scarring, stretch-marks, hyperpigmentation).
Expect to have some redness that resembles mild sunburn. This may last for 2-4 days. For some the redness dissipates within 24 hours. The skin may also feel warm, tight and itchy for 24-48 hrs post procedure. After the initial treatment, patients often notice that their skin has a healthy pink glow and that fine lines are diminished.
Skin naturally takes about four weeks to synthesize new collagen, but it is not until about four months that patients can see the full effect of Rejuvapen treatments. Based on individual needs it is suggested to receive three to five treatments, spaced at least two-three weeks apart.
Please avoid applying makeup products for the first 12 hours following treatment. Use tepid water to cleanse the face for the first 48 hours following treatment and drying the area gently without rubbing. Rejuvapen treatments are contraindicated if you: Have open wounds, cuts, skin infection. Have used Accutane within the last 3 months or active acne. Have had radiation treatments to the skin within the last year or skin cancer Hemorrhagic disorder or Hemostatic dysfunction Have history of keloid or hypertrophic scars or poor wound healing Rosacea/Eczema.
